Lockyer was literally the captain of captains. Smith, Slater, Cronk, Inglis, Thurston, Boyd, Gallen, Marshall, etc. All at least were under his leadership at one point. Whether it be Origin, World Cup, and even All Star games. Locky was a different breed of a player. Master of two different positions

No Greg, Lockyer wasn't the first to go from fullback to five eighth. Bennet had successfully transitioned Julian O'Neill, he was the prototype. Lockyer was the refined version.

Lockyer is up there with Andrew Johns. As a Kiwi he was the scariest player to cheer against. Always dangerous as a fullback and even more as a 6. Sweet left foot
