I'd definitely love to revisit the structure of the championship. The Munster championship is the gold standard, but I don't think the current structure fully suits Leinster or Joe Mac. IMO the All-Ireland series doesn't really get enough time to breathe either. It's only really starting to get into the swing of things before it's over. I'd love to bring back proper Quarter finals with 8 teams, but I don't see how you accomplish that without gutting the golden goose of the Munster Championship.

The big free to air hurling game on RTE on Saturday was a very poor advertisement for the Leinster championship. Whether it was the 16.00 throw in on a Saturday, the poor crowd of 8,000 or the incredibly dull commentary the game had more a feel of am early season league game. The fare on the field did little to improve things. The game was so scrappy, lots of pulling and dragging, constant fouling with no real fliw to the game and played at a snails pace. Wexford were abysmal and i wasn't impressed with Dublin either. Didnt see Offaly v Kilkenny but great credit to Johny Kelly and Offaly for getting something from the game and putting themselves into s good position to make the top three. I fancy Offaly to beat Wexford smd Kildare it would be a great story to see them back on the big stage playing a Munster team. Kilkenny no lack of effort which id a mimimum requirement but lacking that killer edge they hsd. Dublin will never get a better chance to beat them at home althogh Dublin no great shakes either and will have to improve to beat a wounded cats. More than likely an all-or-nothing game between them in Parnell Park with Dublin hoping to win only their second championnship game in 90 odd years against the cats. Wouldn't read anything into Galway's win.over Kildare. Wind played a huge factor in Kildares ht lead. Galway were always going to win the game. Kildare have improved a lot but still a long way off the top level. Waterford v Cork game after watching the dross in Wexford was a far better game played at a massive intensity from start to finish. Waterford just coming up short again a familiar tale of woe and another heroic loss to add the collection. Cork in a very healthy place had to battle it out and seem to have a harder edge to them under Ben O Connor's leadership. Brian Hayes was unmarkable a no brainer for man of the match. Others like Darragh Fitzgibbon quieter than usual its a good sign when different lads are stepping up all the time. Cork and Limerick still well out in front of the chasing pack. Munster still prodilucing the goods while Leinster limps on in its wake.

Agree with Murph. JJ is the best defender i've seen a class act and Eoin Kelly is up there with the best forwards also. Two great picks. That Waterford team were a breath of fresh air. Played hurling like free spirits, off the cuff, with a swagger that you never knew what was coming next. I don't think they did either. Ken McGrath, Paul Flynn, Tony Browne, John Mullane and Big Dan the galacticos. Its a great pity they never got up the steps of the Hogan Stand.
