All cars state peak horsepower and that is always available only at certain times. I feel that statement was either incomplete or misleading.

The AMG GT use the 9g tronic with a clutch pack, the e53 uses the 9g tronic with a torque converter so its inherently smoother.

I tend to agree but the sound means nothing when AMG V8s sound the exact same on standing revs (it's more on soft limiters)

AMG isn’t just a badge for the high performance trim- it’s a division of MB that develops the cars. So yes it’s an AMG because it was developed by AMG, but the question is-does it fit the ethos of what AMG has always represented?

I had a buddy who bough an AMG new and spent the next two years going back and forth needing to send it in for months at a time because its hand built motor had to be fixed by the engineer who originally built it. After the THIRD round of shipping it back to the plant he told me hes never getting an AMG again.
