Prices are rising like rockets, but falling like feathers. This happens with every product, sadly, not just RAM.
The RAM vendors have found a new price floor. They'll do literally everything in their power to keep it there.
It's a shortage, but every supplier, every retailer, has product stacked in bins in the corners and shelves are overflowing. It's not a shortage, it's a misallocation and hoarding/scalping issue.

Why do we need DDR6 memory in cars and stereos? What's wrong with DDR4 and 5? My PC still uses DDR4 and I can run practically everything
The sad part about EVERYTHING, when the price goes up that is the new normal unless something drastic changes. Ram may drop 25% just like gas might drop 10 to 25% but this current price is the new normal... I think I can count on one hand the few times things have gone back down to the original price after a massive shortage price increase.
It all comes down to "You will own nothing and be happy", as much as I am fatigued by myself and others saying that phrase over and over.
AI companies are making peoples lives worse, so that they can make more people’s lives worse, with the eventual goal of making people’s lives worse, so ultimately they can make everyone else’s lives worse. Remind me why these companies are being allowed to exist again?
I'm sick of this crap We build town sized datacentres to house millions of GPUs and it's hard to find examples of how average person's life improved from it

Non-Steam games will in fact work (except in very wierd or rare cases) with steam-input if you add them as a non-steam game to your library.
I think Steam has evolved into a company that is more willing to be transparent, in furtherance of garnering trust from their customer base.
I wish more game designers, studios, publishers would say, "We're not ready to share a launch timeline right now" for a lot longer. Stop making expectations you can't meet.
Ah, it's not just computer parts. Reckon we should all brace for a severe decline in living standards and enjoy tech whilst we have it, because for the next few decades, we might end up having to deal with the economic reckoning that has been building up for the last century.
