How do you sign up to ump a game?

Usually leagues (Illinois high school) are too cheap to pay umps double so they will pay 1 ump 1/2 game fee ($77 solo in IL)

I umpired last year in my town. Nobody gets paid to umpire around here lol. Now I just coach pitching lol, no more angry parents.

I thinking of becoming a ump for some younger kids next year. Being a 14 year-old next year, any tips?

Just umpired my first game and it was solo and I got paied nearly $80

So if you’re solo empire and they hit it, do you just run to the base and make the call there?

Where i live when the second umpire isnt here u take half and the other one goes to the markers

Make sure you negotiate that with whomever. Don’t just expect them to pay you base umpire rates out of the kindness of their hearts.

My best earning days of my life were working pony level travel tournaments solo. Would do 3 and sometimes 4 games a day by myself and pocket $180 games/ piece. Great times!
