Finally registering someone as an individual person after getting to know them is so real though. I always forget everyone I passively know is actually alive & sentient, and it only fully registers when I get to know someone. They just feel like side characters otherwise

No joke this is how I met my best friend. Friend of a friend, we were hanging out smoking and I was being quiet and he said he's autistic and he's tired so he's dropping the mask, prepare for some deranged chatter about fallout. I responded with "I'll drop mine and we can talk star wars" and we've been friends 10 years lmao
