With how prices are rising in 2026, eventually something is going to give.

It's not just the car situation . It's the lack of good public transport . It's the lack of safe cycle lanes . It's the lack of sensible urban planning with no sidewalks . It's the ridiculous cost of housing if you want to live anywhere close to where you might actually get a job . It's the American fiscal trap . Constantly indebted to the banking system .

The average car payment in the US is $700 a month over eight years. People don’t have to be getting cars that are that expensive.

It is crazy we don't have busses and other ways of transport here in Florida. If you don't have a car, there is no way to go from point A to point B. You don't even have enough curbs to ride a bike or even go walking if you decide to do it.

Going to be even more expensive in 2027 when you get to pay for the technology that's watching you 24/7

3 options, 1 Pay $400/mo in car payments. 2 Pay mechanic shops $150/hr to fix your car. 3 Spend $500 on tools, watch some youtube videos and fix it yourself, learning new money saving skills in the process.

I love buying cars that people think are broke and fixing them to use. Only ever bought one new car and that was because I got an employee discount and a lifetime warranty through the manufacturer. 140k miles later that’s already paid for itself. I’d love to see Caleb partner with someone like WatchJRGo or LegitStreetcars and do a whole segment on what to look for in cheap cars and how to fix things yourself to not get screwed over

Got my first car in 2015 used for $1000 traded that in 2019 for a used $5000. It doesnt have to be expensive but not everyone wants to drive an older vehicle and maintain it.

I found a loophole. I work at a dealership in the parts department. My parts are whatever I decide they cost, and my friends are the mechanics.

I bought a car for $950. Thought it was a great deal. 11k in repairs later and I'm left with a 15 year old car with no AC that looks like shit.

Hey, Michigander here. Thank the Automotive unions! They're the reason a vast majority of the auto industry left the country!

Fun Fact: To match the house buying power of someone who lived in the late 1900s minimum wage would have to be almost $70 an hour

Being european, it makes me sad that americans have basically no choice besides the car. Freedom and all that.
