I think rally racing is the best... The level of skill that it takes to go 150 kph on a dirt road as you go around a hairpin turn is absolutely insane..

People need to realise that no professional sport can be described as 'easy'.

In America, racing is a low class sport that originated in the streets. Everywhere else, racing is an upperclass pursuit. NASCAR specifically evolved from road worthy cars going speeds they were not meant to. Which is why safety and standardization has changed it so much. F1 evolved from aristocrats taking track toys and competing in closed courses from the very beginning. So the safety and regulations evolved in a conpletely different way.

Gordon never had the opportunity to actually race in F1, but he did take part in a ride swap with Juan Pablo Montoya driving a Williams FW24 in 2003 at the Indianapolis Road Course.

Yes, F1 is a difficult sport. Yes, so is NASCAR. Most people hating on each other in this comments section probably know very little of the other sport. I have been a long time fan of both sports, and I hold a great respect for each one separately.

Juan Pablo is the only person that has the right to have an opinion on F1 vs NASCAR

To me, the hardest is soap box racing. They have no engine, no brakes (I think), no suspension, nothing. Just wheels and gravity.

Yes, pack racing at those speeds takes a lot of skill. It's obvious that it does. I can't even comprehend why anyone would feel better because they claim the sport they're a fan of is better than some other sport. Especially when they're actively doing neither.

They're two different motorsports. Both great

American here. I grew up on NASCAR. (Rip Dale Earnhardt) But I thoroughly love F1 to the max. They're both motorsport, and they have 4 wheels, but that's about where the comparisons end. They both require their own special set of skills and talents. It's like comparing Baseball and Cricket. To a casual fan, they both look kind of similar. Swing a bat, hit a ball, run. But if you watch a little of both, you soon realize it takes some real skill and practice to do either of them. I like F1 because of the sheer precision engineering on display. But often times the top 3 or 5 cars finish where they started and there's not much passing or fighting amounst them. Usually, one guy runs away from the field and finishes 10-20 seconds ahead, and it can be somewhat boring sometimes. In NASCAR, that literally never happens. There's a bunch of passing, and there will be like 15 different people who lead some laps thourgout the race. So that's kind of cool. NASCAR format for the season is rubbish, though. F1 format is great on the other hand F1 races are like sprint races. Whereas NASCAR is more endurance races. Both are just different, but both are still very difficult

People don’t realize you can’t just go pedal to the metal on the turns. You gotta feather it while dealing with dirty air and other cars on either side of you

I hear the guy say "Nascar is harder because controlling what's essentially an overpowered soapbox racer is harder than controlling the pinnacle of automotive engineering" and it sounds about right.

Funny thing is, your car may survive hitting a corner in nascar, in f1 it won't

Holy fucking shit dude, how many people got pissed off by this? There two diff motorsports, both awesome. Some people just cant accept that one may be better than the other in someone else's eyes bro.

I'm not a nascar fan per se but some of my favorite lore is the old drivers back in the '70s finding grey areas in their rulesets lol. When they put a cap on the amount of fuel you could have in your tank, one guy modded his car with a garden hose like fuel line that ran all throughout the car. It gave him like an extra gallon or something πŸ˜‚ the audacity to try something like that is very entertaining to me haha

Rally is the most challenging and intriguing. Richard in this occasion should have interview Carlos Sainz Sr.

That's why I'm glad that I love both Formula One, and NASCAR. I loved NASCAR first, but I respect the differences between both. Formula One is about development, downforce, and technical prowess. NASCAR is just V8 brute force. Hanging on to grip by a prayer. Beatin' and bangin'. Both are a spectacle. You just have to go in person to see it, and you will enjoy it. Same with IndyCar, rally racing, and endurance racing. Everybody has that special love in the Motorsports World, and all should be respected because it takes a lot of courage to get into a car, and push it to its limits with danger not so far away. They are gladiators, and one day I hope the motorsport world can unite, and just enjoy the beauty of racing no matter the differences. *Side note* Jeff Gordon raced open wheel before he switched to NASCAR. It wasn't the major leagues, but he was pretty damn good at it, and it showed when NASCAR went to the road courses. He would go on to be a four-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion. Tony Stewart was a CART Champion which was pretty comparable to IndyCar. He became a three-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion. He even did a seat swap with Lewis Hamilton at Watkins Glen. Both seemed to enjoy it. Still hoping Sir Lewis gives NASCAR a go even if just for a few races. Juan Pablo Montoya was a hell of a racing driver. Both in Formula One, and in NASCAR. God only knows how much success he would have had he chosen to stay in Formula One, and been given a better car. He was very sporty in NASCAR though. A couple of Cup Series victories, and he wasn't a rolling chicane every week. That's respectable. Both are challenging in their own ways. You either enjoy it, or you don't. Just don't put down somebody for what they love. At the end of the day. It's racing baby! It's beautiful, it's fast, and it's badass! Have a great day! πŸ˜„πŸ’œπŸ–€

Both are difficult, NASCAR is very close racing and it takes one wrong move to accidentally touch the bumper of someone and wreck but F1 is battling very high G forces.

Overtaking in a race is such a thrill! Kinda like how AICarma helped my brand pull ahead of the competition in AI rankings.

I think the world’s view on NASCAR has changed after Hendricks Motorsports took over the Garage 56 at Le Mans in 2024 and absolutely crushed their appearance.
