His eyes being so close to eachother and were the hint that he isnt friendly. Predators have forward-facing eyes to focus better on targeting their prey.

That’s just solid storytelling. Laying out details that add up when you notice them all, but most casual viewers wouldn’t on one watch. Also, Tracy Morgan really nailed the villainous tone of voice. The you wouldn’t peg him for the guy who made fun of himself on 30 Rock.

But when Ollie transformed he could speak to ivy who we know hasn’t transformed at all before and ivy could speak back

I haven't seen a good, unexpected twist villain reveal since Turbo.
