The mirror doesn’t "know" what you are holding it simply reflects light from angles you cannot directly see Because light radiates in all directions light from the soap or pen hits the mirror around the towel and bounces to your eyes creating an illusion that you are seeing through the obstruction

Basically in science I heard that since you didn't cover THE WHOLE MIRROR, the mirror can make light pass through it so it can bounce through you, to to mirror, so basically it's science not someone spying on you. (I only heard this from my parents)

For those who don’t understand the light reflects on the mirror so it will reflect from every angle so u don’t see urself but other people can see u from their angle unless they r behind u or not looking at it it physics
