I've been doing this for years. I've sprayed hundreds of cars. And this one made me cry. Episode 2 of the VC Commodore restoration is here — and this is the one where it all starts coming together. We go from bare prepped panels to a full respray, and the result honestly got me. I wasn't expecting that. Here's everything we cover in this episode: 🔧 Panel prep done properly — I walk you through the full sanding process, the way we get panels ready for paint in a professional shop. No shortcuts.🚗 The owner arrives — And he's brought the new interior trim and hood lining with him. Seeing the pieces of this build start to come together in the one place is a feeling car guys will understand. 🎭 A new masking technique — I'm trying something different here. Watch closely — this one's worth stealing for your own builds. 🎨 Trialing new paint products — I don't endorse products I haven't tested. These ones earned it. The finish they delivered on this VC is genuinely something else. 😭 The moment that got me — When the paint hit that body and I stepped back… I wasn't expecting to feel it like that. You'll see why. This is a real Holden restoration, done right. No rushed cuts, no AI-generated footage — just real work, real results, and the honest emotion that comes with loving what you do. Without sounding odd... Glen, you truly possess the perfect voice for narrating your creations. The way you present the product and demonstrate your techniques is utterly captivating. You've mastered the art of allocating just the right amount of time to each section, ensuring a seamless flow throughout. I can’t help but wish I were 30 years younger, with a car ready to bring to you. As the older guy I am, that’s not in the cards, but I must say, it’s incredibly entertaining to watch a true artisan in action. Someone who's down-to-earth and doesn't boast. You’re open about your mistakes and take responsibility for them. Just brilliant. I wish you all the success, my friend.
What a stunning colour put down by the master 💪
Restoring these beauties is doing God's work
holly crap mate, nice fricken job, that turned out frickn clean, what a nice green
G'day Glen just watching the commodore paint job. Mate you have just laid down another fantastic job, great stuff well done 👏.
35 years ago i was with a mate in his what was roughly 10 year old RT charger ,a P76 pulled up next to us in Guide Coat revving his Alloy V8 at the lights ,they turned green an the P76 Just pulled away from us like we where sitting still , I think they where a greatly underrated car ,that could fit a 44 gallon drum in the boot !
Like and hype deployed. Now time to watch. 😊
You must have a great high build primer all the paint systems I’ve used I always have to prime twice also those dura blocks are well worth the investment Love how you show the effort that goes into a restoration Also 3050 clear is brilliant
Need it be said how good of a job you've done. Yet again, Glen and team. Without a doubt, world class workmanship
Sage green is a beautiful colour when put down properly. Great work guys
Thanks!
beautiful job cant wait to see how the dato turns out
Is Marley's nick name Bob? It would be if I worked there 😂 He's a good worker. Sage green is nice but Rhone Green is better in my opinion. I have a VH Commodore in Rhone Green. But having said that I am a massive fan of Jade Green. It's a good looking colour. Great paint job by the way.
That colour, on that early model of Commo. Perfecto!
Wow, that's a great job, can't wait to see the complete car, thanks Glen.
Another great episode Glen, the VC came up beautiful, I can’t wait to see it complete, along with the P76! . It’s great to follow your channel!
Credit to you Glenn!! That merch come through thankyou mate 👌🏻
Too good Glen. That Cromax clear looks spectacular. I wonder if their are any distributors here in Sydney. Too many good things to look forward too. That P76, the SSS and of course the grand finale of the VC. Awesome stuff mate !
