We are either ALL free or none of us are free. That’s how this works. Infinatum.
I think it’s so funny how equity and fairness only matters when trying to keep things the same but out the window for things like reparations or representation
As a trans woman thank you for being an allied❤
Trevor eloquently laid this topic DOWN, YO!!! I will watch the whole thing and thanx for puttin me up on game!
hell yes, we all need to stand together on all of our rights. it's simple I'm here for you and you're here for me, we protect us, and we stand in solidarity
for real like you said at the end, you really think someone who abandons their own constituents to win is actually going to ethically represent you? be real
What’s even more shocking about that particular debate is how the side that’s against it is completely devoid of the science around this issue. Why? Because, of course, the scientific research doesn’t support their position, so it automatically gets ignored. Pure scientific denialism. And the most pathetic part is that they try to claim they’re the ones relying on scientific evidence to justify excluding trans women from sports. Get real, these people wouldn’t recognize science if it hit them in the face.
When it comes to trans in sports or trans in general, the government should mind their business. I think these sports organizations can handle making the rules and set the proper testing standards, why is the government needed there? In general, trans ppl should be treated like every other cis person in this country. And I was born in Jamaica, our culture is heavily against most things lgbt, but that to me is the beauty of America. Living here has changed my outlook on so many things. It truly does suck watching the parts of America I like be attacked using fear and prejudice.
Its a problem that already has a solution. Fairness in sports is and has always been determined by the participants - the league and the athelets. The leagues make the rules which establishes fairness, and if you want to participate in the league, you have to agree to the rules. The problem is some people read the rules, agree to participate under the rules, and then still cry about how the competition they agreed to is unfair after they already said they were fair enough to compete in. And there is no solution to sore losers other than to shame and mock them mercilessly..... Instead, conservatives have championed the sore losers who lost fair in square under the rules they agreed to. To further their own victim complex. There is nothing stopping these people from creating their own leagues with whatever rules they want.
Neil Degrasse Tyson has a similar take on this as well using the same perspective.
Same for Universal Healthcare and tuition free college. To many people can't imagine that those programs can work. They don't even think they deserve anything from our own government. It's total madness and a complete lack of imagination. AND RESEARCH.
Besides the hate and bigotry towards the Trans community, I am always struck by the fact that just about all the people who rant about Trans people competing in sports DO NOT watch or care about women's sports. Just about none of them go to games/matches or watch women's sports on tv. Look at how Trump deingrated the USF women's hockey team that won a gold medal at the Olympics.
Stephen A Clown is hilarious
My niece is trans. Thank you for this.
Trevor explains it way better than I can. I tried to make a point by saying that some of us either don't understand, or try to deny, how the world around us is constantly changing, and are pretending like this moment we live right now is like that mosquito trapped inside amber in Jurassic Park.
Until we recognize the humanity in every living person on earth, we will be our own worst enemies.
the "left" is just NOT the "left" anymore... progression is a way of life. not just a political POV. I have spoken to intellectual people on the right that actually have progressive views, however they are scared of a label and to be SEEN as siding with the "left". Bro.... I think we are our own party... and I believe we need to start seeing it that way in order to truly progress...
8:24 - 8:34 , wow great quote coined and minted. I think this guy is streets ahead.
Trevor rules!
These were great points, and even shared with a creative perspective. I’m glad Trevor can bounce back after his perspective on Jim Crow and desegregation.
