In this episode, conservative commentator Amir Odom, left-leaning political voice Mason, and I - sit down to debate one of the most polarized topics of our time: transgender identity and the cultural debate surrounding it. We explore foundational questions at the heart of today’s gender discourse: What is a woman? What is a man? Are sex and gender distinct — or inseparable? Is the current debate truly about trans rights, or is it about how society defines truth, language, and reality itself? From women’s sports and gendered spaces to education, youth identity, pronouns, and free speech, this conversation dives into the tensions between personal identity, biological definitions, civil rights, and societal impact. Are expanding gender categories creating more freedom — or more confusion? Can trans rights and women’s rights coexist without conflict? This episode does not aim to inflame — but to examine. It’s an attempt to model what honest, challenging dialogue can look like in a time with so much division. Whether you agree with Amir, Mason, or myself, this is an opportunity to hear different perspectives wrestle with truth, dignity, policy, and compassion in real time. THANK YOU FOR HAVING MEEEEE. This was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again.
Being a woman isn’t performative. What an insult
I never agreed with being called “cis” so please don’t call me that. You can make up words to call yourself, don’t make up words for me
It's disgusting when a man tells women that they shouldn't feel uncomfortable around a man in the bathroom
Mason: If men feel more comfortable in women's locker rooms, they should be allowed. Also Mason: If women feel uncomfortable with men in their locker room, too bad. So men's emotional comfort is more important than women's physical safety? That's a dangerous double standard.
I’m so tired of progressive men explaining that womanhood is socially constructed…. What authority is he speaking from????
Comparing needing insulin to needing a gender change is craaaaazyy lol
Trans women aren’t another category of women. They’re another category of men. Hope this helps.
No I’m a woman, I bleed once a month, I give birth, I breast feed. Do not act like everyone can do that. Thank Amir for being here!
The lefty fatigue is real. Bring back common sense! Looove Amir!
Mason's explanation of what "woman" means is completely nonsensical. He defines "woman" as an amorphous, ever-changing set of stereotypes that are being challenged and dismantled, but then rejects the only stable definition _not_ rooted in stereotypes. He's essentially defined woman as meaning "whatever you want it to mean," which means it means nothing. Which means it means nothing to say someone is a "trans woman." It's so vacuous, it's actually infuriating. How can you use so many words to say nothing?
Oh my gosh, as a woman. I don’t want a grown man in the locker room with me. Or my child.
"i don't look around and see who's in the bathroom with me" said by a non vulnerable man. try being a woman, especially a mother with her child
Listening to Mason is painful. Such terrible arguments.
How does Mason not realize that when Jordan Peterson said "ask one" in response to what is a woman, he would first need to know what a woman is in order to ask them....lol
"Our judgment is clouded by our empathy." Great quotation!
I think mason is assuming that the suicide rate among the trans community is caused by them not feeling like they are accepted in society for their differences. However, I cant help but wonder if maybe these people are just people who are struggling with mental health issues to begin with and that led them down the path of identifying as trans. There are many people who medically transition that regret it and it ruins their life.
Ellen and Amir are in a video together? I clicked this so fast my finger got sprained.
The pseudo-intellectualism is so tiresome. Nothing means anything anymore. I hate it here.
Yes Mason, children are the most vulnerable group and deserve the MOST protections. So it makes sense that we put them first.
