43 million people in the United States now live below the poverty line, twice as many as it was fifty years ago. 1.5 million children are homeless, three times more than during the Great Depression the 1930s. Entire families are tossed from one place to another to work unstable jobs that barely allow them to survive. In the historically poor Appalachian mining region, people rely on food stamps for food. In Los Angeles, the number of homeless people has increased dramatically. In the poorest neighbourhoods, associations offer small wooden huts to those who no longer have a roof. ------- Bear witness to monumental moments in human history, and human's most terrible crimes. Java Witness is home to incredible stories of good and evil, from fascinating stories of old, to chilling documents of heinous murders and modern-day mafias and gangs. Imagine working full time and not being able to afford housing, terrible county, spend literally billions on war but leave their own people in these conditions.
Maria is a hard working, honest person. She deserves so much better.
The rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Something is very wrong.
Richest country SHOULD NOT have an epidemic of homelessness. The true problem is the MENTAL PROBLEM OF GREED!
The 'evicted at gunpoint' is disgusting. I'm genuinely shocked at how terribly poor americans are treated. GUNPOINT?
Bless her, and all there who have to live in their cars and work a full time job, this is disgusting,
How can anyone call us the richest country when our people are homeless and hungry
Middle class is and always was an illusion...there are just multiple levels of poor....
Unfortunately we're all just one paycheck away from being homeless
I can’t believe Americans think we all want to move there. I’m in the uk, I’ve worked all my life but then things happened. I had a cardiac arrest. Free ambulance, free flight to hospital via helicopter, 3 weeks in hospital. Now I can’t work. All medical costs are covered and have enough in benefits to cover at least basic needs.
With all the trillions spent on wars in America every American could have had a home, healthcare and free education.
I have a "normal" life: a home, a warm bed, good wholesome food in my belly, enough money to live on, health-care free at the point of delivery. Watching this video makes me feel incredibly blessed. Oh, yes - and I live in Europe.
This was depressing to watch.
It seems like a cruel and heartless system. There is no humanity in this at all. What American dream are they talking about!!
Thankk God she has that van ❤
MARIA looks a very nice honest person, my heart goes out for her, I hope she has a better future soon.
The volunteer dentist system is amazing 🙌 What a great community!
This was hard to watch. My heart breaks for these people. Nobody should be homeless. 😢
I cried when she smiled with her tooth im missing about 5 teeth and one is my front tooth people dont realize how much it effects your mental and physical health ... im about to get new teeth in a couple months had about 20 thousand of dental work done for 3 years lots of pain and suffering but will be worth it these rich people dont realize how much we suffer as they hoard greed we need a change
This just breaks my heart. I saw her years ago. This homeless situation is just gotten completely out of hand.😔
