The level of atrocities being meted out to women in Jamaica is uncalled for and suggests that the hearts of men have grown extremely callous and cold over the years. It compelled me to use my little platform to speak out against these acts. Its Full time now JAMAICAN MEN learn to use their brain and not their brawn in dealing with the opposite sex. Good evening, Mistereducation. Long time... ...glad to see you looking well. The problem of male to female violence between Jamaicans has little to do with any form of "homophobia" (imho). This form of behaviour might be known as "toxic machismo". I have seen that certain (males) are unable to deal with "loss of face" in an emotionally charged situation. The violence brought out as punishment to "offending" (females) "saves face" for a while. That scenario is not uniquely "Jamaican", though. Thanks for bringing this subject up, painful as it is.
Honestly violence against women by men has been going on worldwide for such a very long time. Women are taught all over the world to take extra precautions around men, especially while alone….i think it’s just the world we live in Kmt.
