Never imagined in a million years that my reddit post would make it to a smosh vid (im the idiot who threw the football at my crush). Couple cool things to add: (1) When everything kinda died down about the incident, she once rode in my car with a few other friends, and i accidentally hit a pole so, you can imagine the trauma i felt when that happened. (2) We became close again in senior year and I asked her out but was sadly rejected. (3) A couple of years after we graduated, right around my 4th year of college, someone from my high school threw a birthday party and alot of people from my old highschool was invited, including my old “crush”. When someone brought it up, everyone had a good laugh about it and we even recreated the incident so it was all good. (4) I still cant throw a football

Last story, parent is right. "Sometimes we have to do the wrong thing to protect yourself" is 1000% right. I was being horrifically mocked and, to be honest, lowgrade sexually harassed for MONTHS my freshman year of high school. I got fed up. I kicked the guy in the balls. He stopped. You have to protect yourself and your well being and if you've tried words repeatedly and seeking help from others...sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands. And I'm glad OP stood by their son for handling the situation how he had to in order to protect himself.
As a professional classical musician with lots of music teacher friends, everyone knew that French horn kid wasn't playing. You can tell. They're either lying about the judges or the judges didn't care enough and thought it would be hilarious to say that. French horn especially is hard to play well and the expectation is for young players to be kinda bad for a while. It has a pretty distinctive sound. They knew and the teacher had way too many other things to worry about.
