For the museum story: The god is Taweret, she is a fertility goddess/ safe child birth goddess. It is likely the statue came from a home alter since her and Bes were two of the most home-worshiped gods. So I think the guy will be clear on curses but I would warn him to be careful about birth control because he has been holding onto that thing for decades and is probably super fertile now.

Daughter of divorced parents here. When I was on vacation with my dad, I told him that my mom’s new husband had also taken me to the same park he brought me to. I don’t know why, but his tone changed when I mentioned it, like he didn’t like the fact that my mom had a new partner. Even teenage me was thinking, 'Aren’t you divorced already? Why are you mad that my mom has a new husband?' Keep in mind, my dad had two other wives, one of whom was his mistress while he was still married to my mom.
