Chinese universities are categorized by their academic level as follows: 1. Undergraduate Institutions: Primarily focused on academic research, including: (1) Comprehensive Institutions (e.g., Peking University, Zhejiang University). (2) Science and Engineering Institutions (e.g., Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology). (3) Teacher Training Institutions (e.g., Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University). 2. Higher Vocational (Junior College) Institutions: Primarily focused on vocational skills training, for example: (1) Higher Vocational Colleges (e.g., Shenzhen Polytechnic). (2) Vocational and Technical Colleges (e.g., Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Vocational College). Leo is clearly at the very bottom of this university education system. They are basically at the level with the lowest college entrance examination scores, but not so low that they have no chance of getting into any university. This competition is brutal, but also very Chinese.

Is new to me, unless its an online class around CA, it's banned to prevent cheating which involves lock down browser Well as An Asian American: 2022 CSU Graduate in Business Management 6 months of applying became a Business Admin for Tech laid off after 2 months 6 more months and now I work in Bio tech which is...unrelated to my major Still got 8K USD of student loans frozen in time, which isn't bad since most of the STEM majors is triple or quadriple that This is a good video, its A reminder people across the world are just trying to make the best of what they got

That interior concept sketch was very impressive. The stark red/white alternating stripe pattern for the ceiling really drew me in. Curious if the assignment also required determination of material use and what his team came up with. Hoping his group did well on the competition! As an aside, it’s unfortunate that some perceive universities like this as a fallback or undesirable position. Having the aptitudes that would make you a good architect is not something many of us can boast about. I kinda wish my university also provided this manner of accommodation with requirements for living on campus. It does seem a bit harsh to require people live on site for the full 4 years. At one of my friend’s colleges, the requirement was for on campus living for the first year (partly for safety), then you could go out and access whatever housing you wanted. The high graduation rate is appreciated. Having strict entry requirements but then making sure your students actually graduate makes sense. If your students habitually fail to graduate, that’s on the educational institution - it is literally their job to teach. It sounds a bit like the “competency by design” educational framework Canadian medical education is now adopting. Loved the section on calligraphy. Somehow it does surprise me at all that someone with an interest in something like calligraphy would gravitate towards interior design and architecture. It makes me wonder how much his answer to the filmer – what do you want to do after graduating – was true. I wonder if he actually does want to go into architecture, but has been convinced by those around him that it wasn’t a “worthy” or “respected” career path. Hopefully it was more just that youthful inexperience and uncertainty that so many of us have had to contend with at some point in our lives. Thanks for making this video and sharing! I'm from Vietnam. This video made me remember about my student time. I studied in a top-tier university in hochiminh city, south Vietnam. The room also have 8 people but it cost more than the one in the video. About 200$ per year.
