I’m simply stating the inner turmoil at one not being able to pursue what they internally want. I’m talking no shit about what’s good economically or whatever y’all arguing abt.

I know a lot of people, after seeing this, will say how disturbing it is that children are deciding with their marks what they will do in the future. But if we look at another aspect of it, it’s not like that. I also gave that exam. I worked hard for two years—without going anywhere, without enjoying anything. There were times when I was just surviving on small breaks. My family condition was very poor. My parents were raising us in extreme poverty—they didn’t have money, yet they still spent whatever they had and believed in me, supported me, and educated me. And today, because of those two years of hard work, I have reached such a big Microsoft office, just because of that exam. So many people will say this system is bad—and yes, I also believe there are flaws. But it may be bad for those who are rich, who have options. For people like us, who don’t have any options, this is a kind of survival. So if anyone reading my comment is truly deserving, you will achieve what you want. But if not, it doesn’t mean the world ends—there is still a lot more in life ahead.

It’s crazy how I can literally relate to everything in that video the struggles of high school and the pressure of that one entrance exam. If you don’t crack it, it feels like your life is practically over. Your grade ends up defining everything, which is pretty much the same in India. The only difference is that even our top universities probably have worse facilities than China’s lowest-tier ones. We seriously lack in almost every aspect of student life, and the number of universities here is limited too. The competition is just as intense you won’t even get any major with a score like 580 in India.

Im in university now, but our university entrance exam is just as competitive as it is in china, we also take the exam once a year, repeat the year if we don’t get the result we want. When kitty said she wouldn’t repeat the year & go through that torture again she felt really relatable..the stress, expectation and the pressure really makes u dislike high school. I had a similar experience and it’s definitely a dark memory, I would definitely not go back to high school.
