Most "remote camera" setups fall apart the second cell service goes down. Cellular trail cams, Wi-Fi doorbells, cloud-dependent security systems - all of them are tied to infrastructure you don't control. In this video, we build a fully self-contained surveillance network that doesn't need cell towers, doesn't need internet, and doesn't need a monthly subscription to anything. This allows you to extend your awareness past what one set of eyes can cover, without putting a person on the X. Whether you're watching a property line, a long driveway, an approach route, or a piece of ground you can't physically occupy 24/7 — this setup gives you persistent eyes that survive a grid-down scenario. I’m an engineer with over 13+ years of experience with servers and infra For the sake of this channel I would absolutely be honored to setup a little something for you guys free of charge if you ever want to connect let me know. You guys are legends!
I'm loving the longer intros
I agree with everything this 43 minute video says that was posted 8 minutes ago
"Does that make sense?" Me: rewind 60 seconds.
This guy is the best I’ve seen when it comes to explaining this in a digestible manner
taking a poo in homedepot wife and kids waiting outside they can wait
We have to adapt like this if we're going to be a serious force as citizens in the 21st century. It involves way, way more than guns. Thanks for covering this!
7:14 I heard "hey chat, are you recording" which is frankly hilarious.
Intros are always epic. DC movie for 2026 pretty please
self-made flock cameras. great idea. i love that I'm trying to figure out these topics and ideas, then y'all just post a video about it at the end of the week. super interesting timing, and like mindedness. thank you guys for getting these ideas and solutions to the masses.
Field Service Tech here. I've installed Ubiquiti equipment for years now. Very "disruptive" tech when it first came out just because it was so cheap compared to the hardware already out there. Their point-to-point products just blew me away and opened up so many possibilities for wireless networking. This setup here is a perfect example. Inexpensive hardware with low power demands that can be setup independent of any infrastructure and work quite easily. When I got my first piece of hardware from Ubiquiti and did some tests at home, I was stunned at how well it worked right out of the box at a mile away with no clear line of sight. Great concept here -and fantastic job breaking down the technology to the unwashed masses out there to understand. Bravo!
I'm a bit surprised I saw the video within a minute of posting
These portable surveillance sticks with ebike deployment, reminds me of that reign of fire movie.
I’m a Comms guy and what you shared in this video is priceless in the civilian world. The views and shares on this video I suspect will be astronomical.
Nobody puts in the time and effort like DC does. Keep crushing it fellas!
The ebikes are in sooo many intros now... Knock it off... Im too close to buying one...youre killin me
Awesome. If you got the $$, you can even get marine radar for birds and use it as a drone spotter.
The intros are better than most Hollywood movies! Additionally, the love the recommendation on adding networking skills to your comms capabilities.
We got sketch telling us about cameras and networking before GTA6 Frankly I’m here for it, great video
I'm sure for non tech guys this is more confusing, than standard DMR radios, but for me this makes way more sense. As soon as I realized MANETs were just fancy wifi(for usage purposes), then this ubiquiti setup makes perfect sense. It's just a WiFi mesh network. The uses and integrations are near limitless. Just off the top of my head, a mmWave radar system used as a perimeter awareness setup. You could use Ubiquiti AI keys to make the network searchable. LIDAR sensors, weather sensors. Local LLM integration. Even remote launch systems for 40mm smokes or flares. The sky is really the limit with an open source protocol like WiFi.
