With the end of the first episode we successfully switched over to our own aquafer drill before the unstable core detonated. But we aren't out the the danger zone yet! We've got lots a problems to contend with this episode: - We need to escape this crater so we can start protecting it from being flooded by bad water - We haven't yet had our first bad tide and we don't know what the map maker has in store for us - Our geo-thermal power plants are on yet another time-limit after we discover an unstable core below them! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1062090/Timberborn Map: Timberpunk 2 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3619180600 Computer Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 64GB DDR5 Ram GeForce RTX 5090 #timberborn #thornbreakers #strategygames #colonybuilder #strategy #letsplay #letsplay #citymanagement #colonysim #beavers

Just found your channel 3 days ago and im CHEWING through the Under Pressure series because i absolutely love your commentary and gameplay. Played this game for a good 110h since 1.0 and ive struggled to find a good youtuber that has the smarts to tackle problems in a fun way, instead of just "chaotic consequences = funny content", i love the smart prepping and workarounds! Please upload more of this series so i have more to watch once im done with the last one. Love from Brazil 💞💞
This entire map is basically, what if you had to make your own river, 100% of it
You have a few sticks of dynamite down in the crater, near the entrance to the underground ruins.
That pocket you pointed out at 3:40 is one of my favorite details on this map. Its a church. For the Folktails its full of books and communion wafers. 😂
Honestly the more I look at this map and you prosper. The more I want to see a mass beaver exhodus out of the valley, then building a neat little "wood" circle" on the ledges of the circle valley.....4 entraces, 4 waterfalls, numerous wheels powering through the rivers that lead to the waterfalls going down....and a mass beaver civilization occupying the center...kinda like frostpunk intended...
18:30 that river is actually mixed during temperate season. now that its a bad tide, it fully bad water. hence the dead crops. temperate mixture is close, but not quite 50%, clever map making. it wont irrigate land, but doesnt kill stuff nearby either.
The generator meltdown is such a nice touch to this. The creator really did a lovely job incorporating Frostpunk mechanics into this game.
If you turn on the resource view it’s easy to find all the hidden storage caches. Also bots don’t get injured clearing out thorns. Just a couple bots to slowly make paths can help a lot.
"OMG! Our aquifer blew up! This is not a drill!!!" _"Well,_ not anymore, it isn't." 😎
I am still awed that you tackled this map on hard. I found it already pretty challenging on normal. Especially the rush to get to a stable source of HP once your central generator (love the Frostpunk) reference here btw.) explodes.
Just as a hint, the wider badwater river doesn't expand its contamination during badtides because it's higher, it's because it's no longer diluted. With a little work upstream, you can actually change the whole thing to a water supply, and you can of course just pump water from the contaminated river at a lower percentage than the water lakes for the entire temperate season if you really wanted to
24:06 that's a nice touch by the map creator!
the unstable cores on this map just sorta make me wish there was some lategame way of defusing them. like maybe spending a large number of your science points *and* having a high chance of losing the beaver doing the job, but then you get some metal blocks and badwater out of it plus no explosion
Use construction guidelines!!! Helps with checking elevation. Solid is same level, dotted/dashed is lower/higher level
Yippie new vid
This map is such a complete and terrifying 180* turn from "let's turn the map all green and happy! 🥰"
I always thought of timberborn as yet another citybuilder and while I've seen some sporadic news about updates it never really got to me, congratulations, you made me buy this interesting game
more of a long term plan would be to move the buildings up against the walls of of the crater and stak upward and keep the center for food and forest.
I will say. I've looked at this map on debug and all that. Those water aquifer's in the canyons on the right of our greenspace are actually set to take water. Regular aquifer's are at a positive, typically at 1 or lower. These are set to -0.3 so they don't output water and instead drain it into them.
Just wanna say, I found your channel on your first episode upload of this series (like some other people in this comment section). Always been a fan of the timberborn idea, but none of what I saw previously when the game was in its infancy was all that interesting. Now that maps have gotten more in depth and complicated, as well as people like you popping up who know how to play the game on a higher level, my views have shifted entirely. You're a fabulous and very funny man, and this series has been incredible, I hope you keep going, and I'll be watching all the way. Thank you brotha :)
