Edgeworth tells Adrian he doesn't care if she dies because she's withholding vital information & playing nice is currently getting them nowhere. Being cruel is probably the only other way to get her to talk &, in case you forgot, Maya is kidnapped with her life ACTUALLY at stake & Adrian is saying she'd rather die than talk.
My favourite thing about "Bridge to the Turnabout" doesn't even happen in that case. It happens in Turnabout Sisters. One of the last things Mia says to Maya while she is still alive is about how good of a Lawyer Phoenix is. She says "I think you might want to wait... give him three more years." Then, at the end of "Bridge to the Turnabout", Three years later, Phoenix fully embodies Mia's spirit and becomes a first rate Lawyer.
Something I find hilarious is how people think Pheonix backpedaled his personality in Dual Destinies when in reality he probably never really changed. WE JUST DON'T HEAR HIS INTERNAL DIALOGUE! Think about the turnabouts we don't play as him. He seems way more mature and put together, and just a bit unhinged. (People forget how unhinged he could get in the original franchise.) It's only when we can read his thoughts does it show how much he's just bullshitting his way through life. This just shows how Phoenix has an amazing poker face.

i can never bring myself to hate the quercus alba encounter, even outside of the memes I find it just reeeeally funny how you'll provide incredibly incriminating evidence but then his theme just starts playing like a jojo character and he'll flip the tables by giving you the dumbest excuse ever like everyone there is 100% sure he did it, he knows they know he did it, but he'll say some shit like "oh i was going to the bathroom and got lost and accidentally saw the ace attorney 7 release date" every silly excuse gives aura loss and you just hammer him til he runs out of aura and makes a scooby doo reference also he's definitely in the files

I think the reason The Lost Turnabout is so hated is that the trial shouldn't even be happening in the first place: The only reason Maggey is being accused of the crime at all is because the victim supposedly wrote her name after he fell... except the police have already confirmed via autopsy that he died INSTANTLY ON IMPACT. The fact that there's writing at all screams "frame up". And what makes it worse is that you can't even point out this obvious contradiction in-game, since (I'm pretty sure) even the writers didn't notice this blatant gap in logic.
