I couldn't help but notice that sedimite losses its rock typing when it evolves into Sedimitey, as well as its following evoltions after. Does this detail represent how sedimite being a statue sheds its rocky form to ascent into divine hood, kinda like angelic statues turning back into angels to ascent to heaven. It would also make sense because given seidimite's last evolution is a literal biblically accurate angel. But by the end this is just a little theory of mine, but it still sounds cool. Especially if you actually end adding a sedimite cult into the game as a part of the sedimite story quest, as so many people have already been demanding. If so then this would fit very well into the lore of sedimite and add depth to the beliefs of the potential sedimite cult.
