The first playthrough I watched of this, I misinterpreted the tapping of the legs as creaking from the rope. Needless to say, I was NOT READY for the Centipede

7:00 fun fact: bugs do not actually have blood, but instead a fluid that they use to move their limbs like pistons. This is why when you pinch a tick’s head with tweezers, its legs move. You push that fluid into their legs, and as a result they move!
The stone thing is a representation of being literally unable to move on to the point it consumes your whole being right? Grief as tragedy. Probably something to do with inhaling the ashes to relive the memories, letting them (the ashes and the memories) completely overwhelm you and ignoring the ones early on your path that might point you to turning back and letting go of the folly at the bottom of the cave. Probably part of why you lose your rope at the end. You cant climb back out once you're that far down/gone, all thats left is to give in.
