He’s right. Mls is levels upon levels lower than what Messi was playing in his entire career. There’s a reason that most (not all) of our best players in the USA that play in Europe don’t play for the top teams in Europe. Granted we have some young dudes now being successful on great teams, but Dempsey, arguably our best ever player, best time in Europe when he was on Fulham. Donovan tried to go to Bayern and didn’t cut it and then he was just alright for Everton. I am 30 now. I have lived in America since I was 3. I can say the game is for sure improving, but the championship in England would mop the floor with most of our best mls team. I have trouble watching mls because the style is so trash it reminds me of a different sport.

With age stamina becomes an issue, and if you look at the football pitch it’s like a thousand times bigger than a basketball court, it’s easier for lebron to just get a couple of free points here and there, and stay consistent, but for messi it’s hard for him to play in the premier league and make a big impact
