I can barely see it. Wonderful addition to the game without the attention being brought to it. Enough being done to improve the game without the controversy. Love the silent improvements and hope other sports will take similar action!

The puck tracing thing from the 90s was pretty cool, you have to remember that the tvs were low picture and you couldn’t really ever see the puck when it was moving even slightly fast.

Professional rugby has been using this technology for awhile. But they’re measuring things like physical impact stats to ID injury causing collisions and giving coaches metrics on when to pull players out.

The NHL needs to test first-person cameras. Even watching beer leaguers play is entertaining as hell in first-person, it would be nuts with professionals.

The coolest side effect of this is away teams being able to watch games in their own arena. These sensors track the players from across the country and send it to the home arena, and the players are highlighted by spotlights on the ice. Its typically like $5 to go to one of these games, they have the broadcast on the jumbotron, and its just an amazing experience

I can see how long time hockey fans wouldn’t like the puck glow/tracker thing but I would love it if they brought that back. I have a hard time seeing the puck on TV and it would be really nice for accessibility reasons too

As a hockey fan, I don’t like the idea of forcing overlays during the game but I do like the idea of making data available for those who want to look at it. And it’s kind of neat to see the “the last shot was 130 km/h” stats in the corner next to the score bug.

I miss the old puck glow they used to do. I mean, yea we have way more clarity on our TVs now, so it's easier to see. But I think it would be fun to bring back for another all-star gane or something for nostalgia
