I had three dogs. They all ended up with cancer and I had to eventually put them down. I noticed they started pulling away from me being by themselves. Staring at the walls. I hardly ever fed them dog food. They ate chicken and steak. Better than I ate myself. I just loved those guys I miss them so much

My cat that lived to be 17 passed away 5 years ago. I remember him hiding in my grandma's storage room. I gave him my special baby blanket he liked laying on and covered him with it to keep him warm. I then let him cuddle one of my special plushies (a beanie baby named boots) and let him be for the night. He didn't pass away the next day so me and my mom took him to the vet. I had put him in my hoodie so he keeps warm and comfortable. We then took him inside the vet. When the vet had put the one medicine (I had forgotten the word) inside him he was trying to stay alive. Me and my mom had to tell my cat he did his job and we are forever grateful for him protecting, listening, and dealing with us. He listened to our last goodbyes and soon passed away. Although he was a cat he was like a big brother to me, and my first beat friend who'd let me talk to him when I needed it the most, expecially when I was in those dark periods of my life that I was thinking of ending it all. He wasn't just a regular cat, he actually understood what you said, and he made sure that you understood what he was trying to say with the expressive face of his. Thank you for letting me ramble stranger. Today was actually the date that he passed away, and so I really appreciate you listening. Have a nice day/afternoon/night.
All the cats I have owned or been around seem to know if they are close to the end. But they become much more clingy and don't want to be alone, always following, even if it is obviously extremely painful for them to move.
And most dogs when they start dying you could smell it. They have this like deaf smell that's on them for like months before they die
