There's a shut down sequence in order for the remote starter to activate. With the vehicle running make sure it's in neutral and apply the parking brake. Hit the lock button 3 times to activate the remote starter. Exit the vehicle and hit the lock button. The car will shut off and will be in remote start mode. This prevents the vehicle from making new door ways in your building.

For anyone trying to test a slipping clutch on a test drive for something with a V8 or other torquey engine: go into 5th or 6th gear at a relatively low speed (like 40mph) and get on it hard. If it's slipping the RPM will shoot up because it can't hold under load. If it's a smaller engine, try 3rd or 4th at a slower speed. The point is to put the engine where it would normally bog down because of the lack of mechanical advantage of the gear ratio, but because the clutch is bad it'll slip
