Spanish PM grants civil award to Francesca Albanese for her work on Gaza

For her work "documenting and denouncing the violations of international law in Gaza," Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has awarded Francesca Albanese a Civil Order of Merit. He presented the award to the UN special rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories on Thursday, praising her work. Diplomatic tensions between Spain and Israel continue to increase after Israel extended its illegal detention of two activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla, Thiago Avila, a Brazillian national, and Saif Abu Keshek, who is a Spanish citizen of Palestinian origin. Sanchez called their detention a "kidnapping," demanding their release. Support stories that matter.
