You’re telling me she’s the best downhill skier in the USA? I find that hard to believe. There are younger, faster, more talented athletes who never even get the chance. This is what happens when real competitors aren’t given real opportunities. She’s 41 years old. That alone should raise questions about the system, not just the athlete.

Father time is undefeated. She really should have bowed out and given the spot to someone else. Knew she had no ACL in one knee. The mental toll of trying to overcompensate for that was enough to guarantee a big error. Hey, at least she isn't Lindsey Jacobellis. Remember her. Showboating one the final jump, fell on her arse and lost a sure gold in snowboarding. Yeah, that was classic.
