The pilots use this as training hours they are required to fly
My grands are confused why I’m crying. The older I get the more emotional the anthem makes me!
Brings tears of joy to my eyes and so thankful to be an American. May God bless the rest of world.
I had a friend who was a WASP ( Womens Airfare Service Pilot) during WWII. When she passed ( 103 years old), there was a fly-by at her funeral service. It was very touching.
In 1991, I flew in the flyover of an NFL exhibition game played in Berlin, Germany. In that case, we did it using 3 US Army helicopters instead of jets. We were actually there supporting the ceremony celebrating the closure of the 'Berlin Brigade', which had guarded West Berlin from the communists since the building of the Berlin Wall (Iron Curtain) after World War II, It was a real honor to participate because I had spent 6 years flying border patrol along the border of East Germany and the Federal Republic of Germany in the area of the 'Fulda Gap', and my father-in-law had flown many missions into West Berlin during the famous 'Berlin Airlift'.
You should try to go to an air show on your next visit. Either the Air Force "Thunderbirds" (F16 Falcon) or the Navy "Blue Angels" (F18 Hornet). You can look up their schedule online, you won't be disappointed.
We Americans LOVE our country and our Allies.. We love you guys too, because you show so much respect to us.
You feel the power in your bones and the pride in your heart
They use these as training missions for timing being on target at the same time the song finishes. Someone from the Air Force is on the ground at the stadium communicating with the planes to get the timing right.
The flyover is dual purpose. It serves as both entertainment for the fans and a training exercise for the military.
Thank you for the respect you paid to both our national anthem and our military. If you ever get the chance to see an American air show (Blue Angels or Thunderbirds) you will be amazed at how much it affects you emotionally. It is so beautiful.
Yes Andre, military flyovers commonly occur at many events beyond football, including MLB baseball opening days, NASCAR races, NHL games, and major soccer matches❤
It's not just big games. My college team had two flyovers this year for regular season games. In a town of only 100k people, in a stadium with a capacity of 51k .
Videos don't come close to doing this justice. Flyover is something that needs to be experienced
The hockey game flyover was probably the "Winter Classic." One NHL game per year that's played outside.
That is the sound of freedom. God bless America and Americans.
6:43 this is no superbowl. This is an average Saturday afternoon college football game 🇺🇸
The fly overs are almost like a Commercial reminding the people that THIS IS WHAT WE FIGHT FOR YOU WITH. And as much as we like/love seeing these Flyovers, the Pilots LIKE/LOVE performing them FOR US. They are LOVED by both us Citizens AND the Military. Great Post.
The Indianapolis 500 has a flyover every year, I would recommend checking out the opening ceremonies sometime.
We Americas love our military people.
