Rejecting the twingo for the 24hrs is a fear responce. They fear it's power
The answer is, we need a Sh*tbox Nurburgring 24 for things exactly like this.
I say "bring the Twingo to the 23h of Zolder, if possible"
Maybe should consider having another 24h race for the slower cars that do 9.30+ per lap.
It should race at the ring, just not alongside GT3's and cup cars. I think the nurburgring should add a shorter event for less powerful cars similar to the roar before the 24 at Daytona

It’s a shame that the main thing rendering it too unsafe is the speed differential with the other cars as the higher classes have gotten faster. It means there’s a risk of losing that grassroots element because the cost of a car that’s quick enough just to be safe is too high for people who just want to have a go
As Twingo owner, problem with this car isn't pace, even with rollcage it is just not safe, you are sitting really close to the engine, so if you crash at high speed, it isn't very safe for driver

My half Japanese Twitter feed has been mostly Twingos on GT7 cornering on 3 wheels and doing nose stands under braking
The GT3ification of every damn race is a problem. At some point it feels like all sportscar racing will be like carcinization, but with dentistmobiles with a few pros scattered in here and there.
If there is a seperate 24 hours of shitboxes around the ring... i would be here to watch that!
They just should make 2 different races. One for GT cars and one for cars like the Twingoat and Dacia.

the Twingo has been making waves in the sim racing community recently, i love it.
I like the car, but I don't think it's safe either, It's unfortunate that so much work might not go to a place it was intended to, but at the end of the day, we race to race, not to get hurt
As a ride or die member of the Slow Car Club, I really think we need to preserve spaces for slower cars like this. Otherwise cup cars and GT cars will kick us out of every single racing venue. If we're not fast enough to keep up with corporations, at least make an event for us so we can still race. If you want the Nurburgring to be a home for grassroots motorsports, you have to do the work of making it accessible to grassroots motorsports teams. Otherwise you are just going to have an empty meaningless label.
unpopular opinion: ban the GT3's and let the Twingoat in!
It is a sad trend. Faster and much more expensive cars are basically bullying cheaper cars out of the entire sport. I wish we could go back to the super-tourers glory days of DTM/BTCC, the races were actually more exciting, now we basically have multiple GT3 disciplines instead.
