Great idea to have an stage with very wide roads and then the road just narrows at the end so everyone crashes, very intelligent stage design
Idiotic UCI course design again. They do stupid equipment bans but miss the biggest risk
This isnโt a racing incident. Itโs negligence, bloody psychotic. We need to be looking at minimum road width on sprint finishโs now. Also taking away barriers than can kill would help.
I really miss free to view 1 hour highlight show with cafe culture and a full country profile. I almost can't face July without Tour de France highlights on ITV.
These organizations think that high speed crashes are โbox officeโ and Iโm sick of it. Does ANYONE want to see someone die, live on television? Enough.
5:05 hopefully the UCI don't trip over themselves rushing to fine those two riders for celebrating their teammate's win ๐
Nasty crash! Hope all are good
Finishing with 3 guys in a group of 11 just proves how great their leadout was and how alert they were. Great win
Altough it seems like it just wheel over wheel...such a barriers are just straight up dangerous, its like the rcs and uci want to see crashes do advertise their sport so they can showcase the crash from 120 different perspectives just like in the netflix serie
Milan's BPM was far too low to win that stage. Looked like only ~90 bobs per minute (and that's being generous). Needs to hit at least 120 to find a good compromise between aerobic/anaerobic bobbing for a sustainable sprint.
4:34 why is the race route so narrow here? there's SO much space that could have been used. you can see after the crash happens and the camera zooms out, there doesn't seem to be a curb anywhere, so why? extra arm room for the spectators?
Milan looks ridiculous when sprinting!
Congratulations, Bulgaria๐ง๐ฌ๐ฎ๐น and good luck to all participants.๐ดโโ๏ธ๐ด๐ดโโ๏ธ๐๐๐๐๐
Watch the lidl trek rider 3rd from the front on the viewer right hand side at 4:37 - how does he stay on his bike?
Absolute carnage on day 1...that looked terrible.
Please add in the standings of the KOM and the Sprint at the end. We wanna follow that too ๐
Letโs focus on personal vendetta against some random cyclist for hand positioning, but letโs have barriers from the 80s with outward feet and small road for the finish. Good job UCI on focusing on what really matters!
Sprint stages... Boring at best, horrifying at worst. Soooo many crashes in Grand Tour sprint stages.
Visma team plan was perfect lol
Race Director sd sued for the course design Same uci that allowed the narrowing Cyclist Union as usual will do nothing Non-professional sport of professional cycling
