You've reached the end
As said in the original, the only unrealistic thing about this is how quickly Cooper replies
i think this is because theres an unspoken girl code, always tell someone where your going so if you go missing they know where to start looking…
"Are we confident hes alive" "If he dies he dies"
Reminds me of the Travis Alexander case. He was murdered and left in his bedroom for a week and all his roommates thought he was on vacation. It took his female friend being worried about him to discover his body.
Since my mom died, it's me, my dad, my brother, my husband and my two sons. No one ever calls me anymore. I don't say that for sympathy. It's just a real difference between women and men.
I went home from work once and took a nap without talking to anyone. Woke up to my gf and her brother at my door asking me if I was alright. I laughed but I felt so loved
"Are we confident he's alive?" "No, but what do you expect me to do if he isn't?"
"Are we confident he's... alive?" "Eh, he would've texted us if he'd died"
This is how one of my brother’s friends died of presumably a seizure, and was not found for two weeks. Nobody cared to check up on him, not even my brother cared to check on his own friend who had went radio silent for two weeks. It was the friend’s sister who eventually wen to check on him, and yep he was already decomposing. Sad.
I'm glad im a girl then 😅 i once passed out in the hallway of my dorm and was taking to the hospital due to an infection. I didn't have my phone, money, shoes, ect. I had no idea how I was going to get home. At like 1 am my friend just walks through the door. My roommates and friends realized they hadn't heard from me in a while and did some solid detective work to find out where I was lol.
My male friend stopped answering his messages for 48 hours so I called his sister to check in on him. He had spent the weekend getting drunk and playing video games and hadn’t checked his messages. He’s stopped drinking since then, but he said he felt safe knowing that if he disappeared I’d notice.
I didn’t text my friends for barely over 24 hours & they showed up at my house to make sure I was alive 😂
I lived in a suite with 4 girls in college, one day I disappeared early morning without telling anyone to help a friend with some stuff at a lakehouse, no service all day, when I got back into range of service my phone was BLOWN UP with texts and calls asking where I went and worried about my health and wellbeing 😭
This happened to my brother except his college roommate (and childhood best friend) was in a hospital dying and it took a few days for them to ID him.
"Jack was found dead in a ditch last Thursday after last been seen alive 3-4 months ago. His roommate Thomas, when asked in questioning, stated 'i thought he just moved out...', despite Jack's property still being at the apartment where they lived. He is believed to have died of natural causes, but the investigation is still ongoing."
I have always assumed that my death will involve a neighbor complaining to the landlord about a weird smell coming from my apartment door.
As a certified man I'm happy to announce that I've been improving in this regard. I now reply to messages from friends at least every other day and communicate with my family at least once a month and often more.
This... Makes a lot of sense now. Im a girl who grew up with 3 brothers. I naturally don't check in on people and kinda noticed that fact about myself a bit 😅
I hate to be that guy but this is a fantastic example of how the experience of a man versus the experience of a woman. Men aren’t as likely to get kidnapped (stereotypically) as opposed to women. So it makes complete sense why for women if someone disappears for 3 days and you don’t hear from them they would start to get worried.
I once had plans with my 3 roommates to go to a flea market the next morning, but that evening 3 of us went to a local party, while the 4th went to one further away with his friends. The next morning, when we were getting ready to leave, he wasn't home so we assumed he stayed with his friends. But when he wasn't home the next day either, I got worried and texted him, jokingly, in case it really was nothing and because I didn't want to be overbearing: "Are you alive? Lol" The day after, he texted me, yes, but he's in the hospital, just regained consciousness after 2 days after a bike accident and lying in a ditch for hours before a random stranger found him. NO ONE knew where he was or anything. Since then I've never felt bad for being too concerned for my roommates lol
