Up until now, we've built what Banff needs, but not the sorts of things that make it a great place to live. That changes today - we'll add all of the essentials like parks, schools, public transit, and grocery shopping. And by the end, we'll transform Banff into a community residents are proud to live in! ------------------------------------------------------------ MY CURRENT SAVES & MOD LISTS ► Magnolia County Save: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/MagnoliaCountySave ► Magnolia County Playset: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/MagnoliaCountyPlayset ► Segunda Beach Save: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/SegundaBeachSave ► Segunda Beach Playset: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/SegundaBeachPlayset ► Banff Playset: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BanffPlayset ► Banff Save: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BanffSave ------------------------------------------------------------ FIND ME HERE ► Use Master Planned Music in YOUR videos and streams: http://MasterPlannedMusic.com ► Twitch: http://twitch.tv/cityplannerplays ► Website: http://CityPlannerPlays.com ► Discord: https://discord.gg/CityPlannerPlays ► Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/cityplannerplays.bsky.social ------------------------------------------------------------ SUPPORT THE CHANNEL, GET COOL PERKS! ► Merch Store: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Store ► Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/CityPlannerPlays ► YT Membership: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/YTMembership ------------------------------------------------------------ MUSIC FROM THE VIDEOS ► Master Planned Music: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/MPM ► Approaching Nirvana: http://youtube.com/@approachingnirvana ► Epidemic Sound: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Epidemic ------------------------------------------------------------ MY GEAR ► Kit.co Link https://kit.co/cityplannerplays ------------------------------------------------------------ EDITORS ► Lead Editor: @1C2yt ► Assistant Editor: @CityPlannerPlays ------------------------------------------------------------ PLAYLISTS ► Ultimate Beginners Guide to CS2: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BeginnersGuide2 ► Ultimate Beginners Guide: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/BeginnersGuide ► Cities Skylines II: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/CS2 ► Tutorials: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Tutorials ► Nicolet Bay: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/NicoletBay ► Verde Beach: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/VerdeBeach ► Clearwater County: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/ClearwaterCounty ► Abandoned City Fix: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/AbandonedCity ►Abandoned City – Bluffside Crossing: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/AbandonedCity2 ► Sustainable City: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/SustainableCity ► Bluffside Crossing: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Bluffside ► City Tips: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/CityTips ► Previous Live Streams: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Streams ► Timberborn: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/Timberborn ► Other Games: https://link.cityplannerplays.com/OtherGames ------------------------------------------------------------ HASHTAGS #CitiesSkylines2 #cityplannerplays ------------------------------------------------------------ CHAPTERS

Left a comment on the first video, but I'll leave one here as well. I would absolutely love to see the skate park moved at least partly underneath the overpass. It's realistic land use and honestly just a missed opportunity, when you already placed it so close
I love this new format! It's really great to see your creativity fully unleashed in this series and the daily uploads are amazing
You gave the students more parking than the factory workers 😅
It's so impressive how quick you can get these quality videos out.
cpp: Man I loved having a nice walkable grocey store also cpp: places megamart w/ 3 sides blocked by a giant retaining wall, an arterial road, and the edge of town, only remaining side has steep uphill path lol
20:34 200 km does NOT sound more doable lol
Speaking as a Canadian, my biggest beef with the high school isn't the parking lot (though it is way too big for student parking). It's the size of the high school campus in general. Unless it's a private school, the high school would never have so many individual sports fields. The soccer, football, and running track would all be the same and there wouldn't be any stadium type seating (people bring their own lawn chairs). There would be ONE, maybe two, indoor courts which would combine basketball, tennis, volleyball, etc. This is Canada... outdoor courts aren't usable 60% of the year due to weather. 😅 Other high school sports would be force to travel to community recreation centres such as a pool and ice rink.
Regarding the weather... it is Banff, known for its weather and climate... so I would express and embrace it
The rapid pace of this series is actually interesting, good stuff
Personally, I quite like having seasons. Its not just a little bit of visual variaation but also it makes the world feel more whole, seeing the environment and the city change with it.
For a Canadian big-box grocery chain in Alberta, you'd want Safeway, Save-On Foods, Sobey's, No-Frills, Loblaw's, or IGA. Banff has an IGA, Canmore has a Safeway. Since you're taking inspiration from Calgary you could also potentially use a Calgary Co-Op. There's also things like Costco or Walmart that are all-purpose stores like in the U.S., though neither Banff nor Canmore has one in reality. One thing that should definitely be in is a Canadian Tire: sporting goods & gear, general home appliances, hardware, automotive, that sort of stuff.
You gotta build yourself a Hockey Rink that will be used by the whole town. Hockey is a bigger part of life in Canada than football is in America. The high school wouldn't necessarily have it's own ice rink but it would use the same one that the whole town uses.
20:42 200 kilometers in elevation to drop? 😂I do not want to drive that road. 😂
Even though I love your other well-thought out and executed CS2 series, I am so glad you're doing this quick build type content. I think it is more in line with how most of us play and we get more content out of it. While I obviously don't want you to get burned out, I hope you continue having a quick build series like this going forward - even if its only like 2 uploads a week or something!
High schools in Canada do have student parking lots, but they're all way too small to actually service the school. My highschool's parking could only fit about 30 cars. But if you are committed to keeping this city Canadian inspired, try to find assets for a hockey rink and curling club
A lot of people are saying add a hockey rink. I say go further, if this is a small canadian citiy that's been around since the 30s/40s it should have two. an old one and a new one. If the assets exist the old one should be some corrugated metal barn called the "Some Local Guy Memorial Arena" and the new one should be a a timber structure named after its sponsor, the local furniture company. There should probably also be an old Legion building, curling hall, and probably a union hall falling into disrepair just to fill the small western canadian city fantasy
The postbox at the mail sorting centre is tickling me
You're cell tower up the mountain is very realistic. I know you wanted to preserve the forest, but the old timber industry you're creating would have created logging roads everywhere. Its very reasonable for some of these roads to still be in use for recreation and utilities.
I am glad that you're Banffing the hell out of us.
"I want things that won't get very high because of the power line, so I'll plant some spruce here". Oh dear. The game might be using a different spruce as a model, but the ones around Banff (white & Englemann) can hit 30m-50m (~110-165ft) respectively. There's actually a transmission line you can look at via Google Streetview in the area -- it runs from the TransAlta Cascade power plant to Banff, crossing Tunnel Mountain Road, and despite being in a national park it is essentially clear-cut.
