When I worked at Denny’s we had a store policy to give free pancakes and coffee if someone came in and needed a place to sit for a bit. If it was hot outside or freezing, rainy or just maybe they needed to sit. We wouldn’t advertise that we did this but we also didn’t ask if they needed it we just brought it out and put it in front of them so other customers wouldn’t notice they may not be customers. My manager said we won’t go bankrupt from giving out pancakes and coffee or soda . 30 years later Denny’s in our area is out of business but I have doubts it was from giving free pancakes and coffee to someone who needed a place to collect their mind for a bit.

What's the standard? He isn't there dirty and drunk? He is trying. He is presentable. He is polite. He even came with a resume. That should be the standard. I would have hired him.

What’s more crazy is that your co-workers could be homeless but still work day to day, it’s not them that are the problem it’s the ever growing inflation that keeps happening to push out the lower percentage to try and appease the higher percentage. You think if you can get a job and not provide personal details most would have a job and a income to eat but not properly house.
