You've reached the end
928 owner died waiting for his parts to arrive.
That’s sad to see that beautiful Porsche sitting out there getting worn by the elements. Get that beauty inside!
i took my Porsche to this very mechanic in Calgary, it took them over 6 months to fix and when i got it it was still was not fixed and they charged me 7k, i had to take it to the Porsche dealership and the mechanics fixed it for 2k and when i went back to them they would not compensate me for to actually get it fixed. DON'T GO TO THESE MECHANICS! terrible experience.
In the US, if the owner of the car cant be contacted, the police may be able to track them down and contact them. The owner of the lot might also be able to file to take possession of the car if it is abandoned. Theres lots of red tape though Edit: forgot about mechanics lien lol That's probably the better option but also probably depends on local laws and also has some hoops to jump through
He is lying. That 911 is his. He is a hoarder. Look at how cluttered his shop is. Damnn
If I owned a 911 Porsche and it was at someone's shop for a year waiting for parts, I would bring it home and figure out a way to find that part myself even if it was a used part that had to be shipped from the States. This is ridiculous.
Dude, that shop looks like a hoarders paradise. I wouldn’t leave anything including my trash there.
It’s a Porsche, parts don’t take over a year. Sounds like bull💩 to me.
The reason the 928 owner disappeared of the face of the earth is because he saw the repair bill lol
Judging by the organized parts shelving, it’ll be there until it rots! It was likely shipped over filled with nose candy!
That shop needs to inform the owner that they are letting their car sit outside in the elements .
I will never ever leave my car at a mechanic if I don't have the parts, I'll wait till I get them all to fix it, it's staying at home with me
Most shops in the US will charge lot fees for long storage and if unpaid for a certain amount of months (typically anywhere from 1-3), they’ll lien out the car and repo it. Legally, if fees aren’t paid after 15 days, it can be liened out. So that shop could technically sell you that 928 if they lien it.
It's located in Calgary Alberta. That shop has the shortest roof...😊 A buddy used to work there years ago
In Australia if a vehicle is left at a shop for more than 6 months with zero contact, the shop can legally transfer the ownership to themselves. I have purchased a bunch of cars from mechanics shops this way to turn into track cars.
If the shop sends a certified letter to the owner of the 928 telling them they are placing a mechanics lien on it. Most states allow a vehicle to be considered abandoned after 90 or 120 days...
"that customer disapierd from the face of the earth" got me 💀
When i was like 12 my dad taught me how to drive in a manual 944 with some upgrades done to it. That was literally the first car i ever drove. He used to say that we were going to the mall and throw me the keys to the Porsche and give me a hat and sunglasses to wear so you couldn't tell i was like 12 to 13 years old. He used to take me to empty parking lots and let me try to do burn outs and donuts before we went driving because he would say "I know what teenagers who like cars wanna do, so i take you here to learn and do it because we don't do that stuff on the roads and you can get it out of your system.". If i started going a little too fast/over the speed limit he'd tell me to chill out and slow down and if anything go slower so everyone can actually see the nice car. One time when I was driving we were stopped at a light on a steep hill with a van on my ass and i rolled back and barely hit the van and he told me to just go lol, there definitely wouldn't have been any damage or marks. The dude in the van tried to follow us but he just kept telling me to go and lose them, I got it to well over 100 mph😂😂😂😂.
Buy the 928… go to the UK… and deliver it to a certain ex-top gear presenter who (even if he has one… or 10) can always do with another.
I do maintenance and restorations on Porsche’s (and other European cars) and it’s never a good idea to try to restore a 911 or a 928 unless you have a lot of time and money. One advantage Porsche’s have is they were built incredibly well to begin with, but they are a nightmare to put right if they’re in bad shape. As long as you don’t mind dumping a huge amount of money into them you’ll be happy when it’s back on the road and running well.
