I had no idea that Bitchin' Rides had been canceled. That show was, in my humble opinion, the finest restoration show of its kind amidst all of the competition.
Too bad we lost one of the best car shows! Dave and his employees are amazing and were enjoyable to watch. I will miss them ALL!
Motor Trend is the only reason for thr shows cancelation! That's why Hot Rod,Hot Rod Garage,Iron Résurrection,Road Kill are all no longer making new shows with MT!MT is in heavy debt due to getting greedy!
The quote at the beginning of this bullshit video where Dave is talking about the people trying to take his business involved early investors in his shop. That was back in the early 90’s and had nothing to do with the lawsuit they are explaining in 2020 or 2021.
Who is willing to spend 675k on a '74 Charger.. boggles the mind
Hopefully this will play out in court like it should. Hoowever, it is sad to see this guy and his business with negative press coverage.
It's better to just tell the customer that it will be three years before we can get to it.
We met Dave Kindig at a car show in Southern California and he is hands down a great, humble and funny guy just like he is on camera. We took pics, he signed gave us autographs and he made us laugh! What a great show he had and truly miss it! I can watch reruns over and over! Wish him and all his crew the best! Everyone on the show was definitely entertaining as well!
Sad, Dave is my neighbor, he's always been very low profile and chill when we see each other while walking our dogs. Motortrend really has dropped the ball on some great shows.
The timeline for custom restoration at any exclusive builder like Kindigit, Foose, Graveyard Cars, etc. is typically YEARS, not months. The increasing litigious proclivity of clients over the past 30 years is why I quit doing work for anyone but myself. I miss seeing his work in creation.
loved his show!! Never missed it. It's terrible what happened to him.
Dave, when you and your team continue to come up with great designs, and products, someone’s always going to hate on you. They are just jealous. I have been working on a project since 2012. No garage, regular work, and lack of funds, it looks like I’m just about to get this 72 Duster to 71 Demon on the road. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to the car customization business.
Any time a restoration starts, no one really knows how long it will take.
This is the, “I am a somebody giving you money. I want what I want and want it now”.
Dave is real. Had many conversations with him and is normal. Big business always gets in the way. He does his best to take care of his customers. Cost of goods has changed alot.
Great show! This and iron ressurection are my favorites. Motortrend really dropped the ball on this one!
No photos matching the narrative at all. I quit wasting my time before the halfway point.
I sat and spoke with Dave at a car show in Grove City PA a few years ago. He is a very humble, personable person that was a joy to speak with. He held a Q and A at the show and openly stated that at that time he was not taking on any new jobs and that he was 6 years out on his builds. There is no way that he would have promised a car to anyone in a timeframe that was not possible.
I've visited kindig and they have a happy open employee work environment if you need to know how to do something someone will show you but if you don't progress or have the skills or grow your skills into elite level you probably won't be there much longer they are paid well I heard the shop is huge a part for dismantle and finishing or assembly and large body work section and a metal work and modification area interior section the building is broken into work area and stages and everything you see on tv is legit but the time frame can be up to a couple years for your project he has a long list and probably 15 cars or more being worked on at one time
The problem I saw was the project of making a 1953 Corvette that could be replicated for over $100,000 that took the entire staff to do, and no one left to build the other projects.
