A couple of years ago, one of the guys I know from a Corvette forum was selling a BBC 67 Corvette. He listed it a little cheaper because the numbers-matching 4-speed was missing, and it needed some fiberglass work. He got a ton of requests from people wanting to come take a look at it. He said about 2 days into it being listed, a guy from AZ was offering him 3k over his asking price, so he said "come get it." Later that day, he got a call from a Texas number. The guy on the phone asked him a ton of questions and then said he would buy it sight unseen and come get it in a few days. My friend told him, "I have already been offered more money, its basically sold" The guy on the other end of the phone was like you don't understand, This is Dennis Collins who wants to come buy it, Everyone knows him" The guy was basically saying that my friend had to sell it to Dennis because it was "Dennis Collins" and he had a Youtube show..My friend ended up selling it to the guy in AZ just because of the arrogance. i don't know if it was a rep or someone who worked at his shop. I personally would have done the same thing if someone approached me like that ...
