The Murder Nova officially made its NHRA debut in the brand new NHRA Outlaw Street class… and what a rollercoaster weekend it was. Coming off an incredible test session, we truly thought we had a car capable of winning one of the brand new Diamond Wally trophies. But once qualifying started, the car had other plans. We chased issues all weekend long and never got to show the full potential early on. Even with the problems, Shawn still qualified #3 in a stacked field when we were aiming for the #1 spot. Once eliminations started, things finally began turning around. We picked up a round 1 win with LOW ET of the round and headed into the semifinals against Scott Taylor. After digging through data and making changes, we finally found the issue and the Murder Nova absolutely flew again with LOW ET of the round for the second time… …but Shawn was dead late on the starting line and our shot at bringing home a Diamond Wally was over. Still, this was an incredible first NHRA outing for the Murder Nova and we learned a TON. We’ll be back. First NHRA Outlaw Street race in the books! 👊🏁 We definitely left some on the table this weekend, but going LOW ET twice after fighting issues all through qualifying shows this car has serious potential. Great to see you guys running with the nhra. I was a bracket racer for 45yrs. You need to get a full sized practice tree and hook it to the trans break button in the car. Set everything up just like you were on the starting line. Tree offto either side and practice practice practice. You will get the the point you don’t have to think about cutting a light. It will be a reaction. Hope this helps you. I would love to see you win a wally.
