Petty will always be the godfather of NASCAR. Petty was country when country wasn't cool. They should make a statue of him and his car. Put it out front at the Daytona beach speedway. Long live petty

One of the nicest people you will ever meet...Mr Richard Petty......I had the extreme pleasure of meeting him, and being involved in taking pictures at an interview with him and some of the crew at the shop.If you ever get a chance to shake his hand, be careful,He has a 200 MPH handshake. He will greet you with a country boy...Hey how ya'll doin, one of the best.

I went to his house when I was very, very young but remember it still. That was almost 50 years ago now. He wasn't famous world wide then like he is now but it was still amazing getting to go see him sitting on the front porch talking to fans like they were his family. He's a big part of why NASCAR became as big as it did. He was there at the beginning.

His home phone number used to be listed in the local phone book. The shop does top notch work. When my car was there Richard gave it a good looking over. He is a great guy.
