The kind of car collector that i respect, has a gallery of them but still takes them out to be enjoyed as they were meant to be
Regular GTA player.
Β£35k for a Ferrari gtoβ¦wow
Nick Mason, not only Pink Floyd's drummer but a gearhead!
In case anyone wonders which of his priceless cars his daughter rolled, it was a 1958 Austin A35
He is a classy human.
Fun fact: It was Nick Mason's Ferrari Enzo that was used to review the car while on Top Gear. Mason only allowed it on one condition if Jeremy would advertise his book along withe car review. Jeremy agreed and that's how BBC reviewed Ferrari Enzo
At my pub before this one, Nic and his good lady were regulars all the time. One of the most modest, honest and reserved gentleman that I have ever had the pleasure of serving. Both the staff and customers never pestered him for an autograph (through my insistence) but every time they came in, we treated him as you would a regular, with banter and genuine honest regard. They appreciated the experience of just going out for dinner and not being doted on. Although I did sit down and talk to him about live at Pompeii for about 45 mins once! I remember asking him once how it felt to be a legend? Being part of the iconic national treasures with Dave and Roger, and he simply said, "we just had a good time, and did what we loved." The only Pink Floyd member, whos career has spaned over 60 years over the course of every Floyd album. No mean feat. Personally a song that speaks to me as a drummer, "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun". He regularly gives to charity, opening up his extensive car collection to be admired by the public every year, with the proceeds going to local and national charities. An honest petrol head (gear head for our American bros and sis's) who enjoys the fruits of his labours, but retains his grass roots. Nic and Annette, a genuine couple, whom are honest, caring, giving, and a beautiful integration not only to the local community, but to the hearts of the British nation. Treasures and a pleasure. Thanks so much for being bloody lovely and modestly creating some of the most iconic music to ever come out of this little country. A true Brummy that has always stayed true to his roots and never let fame get the better of him. A genuine rags to riches story. An absolute pleasure to seeve and makes me proud to be British πͺβΊοΈ
I had the privilege of meeting Nick when I was working in Cornwall. He is the nicest and kindest man you could ever meet.
Nick Mason. Pink Floyd
He drives them and keeps them alive. He is the kind of collector the cars want to find. A collector like this is who you would sell to for less.
That last frame did her dirty man
Nick Mason, Pink Floyd's drummer and well know car collector. I recognized him in the first second.
Also a McLaren F1 GTR, F40, LaFerrariβ¦all regularly used.
He paid 37k for the GTO in 1977 - which is ~210k in today's money.. So it wasn't 'cheap' back then, would've been about 15 years old, equivalent to buying something like a 430 Scuderia today - you'd have no way of knowing it if it's going to be worth 100m+ in 40 years time...
Cars are meant to be driven. Respect, sir.
Rich people problems no one gives a shit besides the rich
I met him three times in Italy in my town where the MilleMiglia Rally was born. He was driving the most beautiful Bentley cars ever! I think he's the most important collector of them in the world. ..and he's the best drummer of the best group ever!!! ππ€
I'm a collector of fine things as well. 2001 Toyota Corolla goes hard.
He batters these cars at goodwood members meetings every year. The only man who'll take a 30 million pound car racing and kudos to him
