The "true ending" in grunn is saving the owner of the house (as he tells you each time you die).
the movement of the character in The Upturned is always hilarious to me
Grunn actually isn't that short at all, but you played the perfect amount of time to get a feel for the game! And you did get the most wholesome ending. For the true ending you need to do things in the right order (hinted by the polaroids) so you'll experience the story and a lot more content. A full playthrough took me about 6-7 hours. Dying isn't a full reset either since you remember where to find the things you need and the shortcuts to get there. I think there's even an achievement for speedrunning the true ending in under 10 minutes :)
Idk if you caught this, but the dev for The Upturned is the same dev for Lethal Company.
Grunn is so good, and you actually played the perfect amount! That ending is natural and a good one to stop on without getting sucked into the actual story. In your review you put "this game is very short" but 2h is still a solid amount of time, but it took me about 10h to get all endings, with the good ending taking a lot of exploration and experimentation to unlock. You don't have to do the same things each time, so resetting your "progress" isn't what it is doing, you chose to do those things again and they still had the same outcome each time you do them. I haven't played The Outer Wilds but people compare it to that game in its progression system being tied to the player's knowledge, so once you know what something does and know what you need to do you may not choose to do it again, such as getting 100% of the gardening done gets you the components for the picnic and once you've gotten that ending it would be redundant to do that again.
Choosing niche games that do well is like going to a Chopin concert to see why his fans like him.
Hope you all enjoy!! Loved making this one, let me know which was your favourite game!!!!!! btw if you haven't joined our community discord, what are you doing?? COME JOIN /invite/CtU2ME7n2C
Going from the relaxation of Grunn to whatever that second game was felt like a panic attack on meth
I genuinely look forward to your uploads. They've been very comforting during a really rough time. I go back and watch your older episodes when I need a pick me up. Thank you for continuing to bring us entertainment and fun/silly/good/bad games!
Yes you played the upturned! I can't tell you how much I love this game. It's freaking hilarious and the scary elements do the work great. The spastic movements the sandbox is just pure comedy.
Peak games mentioned. Cant wait for the "hidden horror gems on steam" video, my goat. ✌️🥹
I can't believe this channel started by fixing and modding his own PSP then lead to this series ❤
Man I love how unique all the games are! I'd probably never find them by myself so your channel is amazing
I knew Grunn from smi77y's gameplay and that game really made me fixated. Sometimes, it doesn't really need too much realism or any kind of tech gimmicks on new games right now. Just a game that easy to know the controls, easy to do objectives and also a smooth execution of the story. Anyways, these games in this video truly deserves it's hype and upvotes.
Grunn, to Summarize, their is a demon that made a loop, in the town, in the end u kill it and everyone is free, and u finally get on the bus to do whatever the guy is going to do
On Steam, a game also needs at least 500 reviews before "overwhelmingly positive" is possible.
THE UPTURNED MENTIONED LET'S GOOOOO
Another Banger!!
I don't know if you take recommendations but here are two hidden gems that have become some of my favourite games of all time: Gravity Circuit and Justice Sucks. I want to recommend these to as many people as possible because they really deserve it.
Funni raccoon game is so fucking awesome and the scale of it near the end is fuckin crazy. Plus one time i was getting chased by cops in norwich and somehow ended up in a strange otherworld race track parkour minigame? I still dont know how i did that
