The Real Art videos gave me chills. As an artist myself, I was in awe. It’s such a shame and I feel your frustration.
I'm so glad that im working on something while having this in the background, so when I occasionally do look up the ai non-consitancy doesnt take me out so much out of the story.
Making the art for a series does take forever. I am making a hand drawn series analog horror style and it just can’t get noticed because my episodes are just soooo long to make. It’s a tough struggle. I will keep my series ai free but I def think I won’t get traction or seen. Watching other ai series get eps out so fast is truly disheartening as an artist.
it's so refreshing seeing someone who isn't or doesn't identify as an artist be so critical of ai art. everyone else around me who don't draw really just don't care and it's so frustrating. seeing someone have such a high view of art and the work that goes into it without being an artist themselves really gives me hope

The description at the beginning reminds me a lot of the animated dystopian series, “Autodale.” That was always very cool to me and has a lot of heart, soul, thought, and creativity put into it.
The creator should, eventually, go back and recreate all of the old videos with actual artists
36:00 Ugh, Im so glad you brought that up. I feel the same way about the iconic "Black Fairy" song from Silent Hill 2 (youve heard it, it sounds like a slow siren/horn slowly pulsing). One of the best soundtracks from one of the most haunting and profound moments in gaming history. Its such a powerful, beautiful song, its genuinely haunting. It got turned into a meme to put over generic scary video slop on tik tok, or as like a silly joke to describe someone saying goodbye and leaving without a clear way of actually getting home ("when your homie leaves the function but doesnt have a car") and idk... I cant help but feel that when you rip a song out of its context and slap it onto another video, it feels so disrespectful to an artists craft. That song wasnt made as a joke or even to be explicitly scary. Its a piece that was made for a specific moment, something crafted carefully to hit like a gut punch in an entire game where countless people worked together to craft gameplay, story, sound, everything all coming together to make that moment so special. It honestly makes me a little upset that people will hear this song, then never have the experience of playing the game itself and understanding the gravity of it. Its so disappointing. And I cant even blame the people make the videos, I think its innocent enough to make a funny video with some friends, or make spooky stuff to thrill people scrolling late at night. I think its just an ecosystem built on extraction of art and ideas into content mills, attention economy, and ultimately - money Just another cultural artifact ground into content paste for the machine. I think thats why I hate Angel Engine so much. It was inevitable.

Man, now I want an analog horror series about a man’s descent into AI related paranoia/ hyper-vigilance.
Credit where it’s due: making sure the people who used no AI don’t catch flack is a really well done move.
I don't even really care for Angel Engine but I got a bit mad too the moment he mention the series went from an actual artist back to AI trash ... Like my god, noooo- That aside, as an artist myself I start to feel like the real issue is people just wanting to have everything existing in an instant. The reasoning of "but it takes longer", like. Back in the day people created crafts and arts sometimes *for years*. And nowadays we sit here like "it takes 2 weeks, that is too long". Quality takes time. That is really why I can understand Wendis rant and frustration. You could have a nice and decently quality story. If you take the time to create it.

I've always held a belief that music often expresses emotions in ways that sometimes can't be described by simple emotions. Art, and especially art with intention has the same effect, especially in something so deep in storytelling. Glad they were able to get someone to craft the visions appropriately
