Child dies after Victorian petting zoo visit | 7NEWS

A three-year-old girl has died from haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) after visiting Rain, Hayne and Shine Children's Farm in Balnarring, Victoria in July. Another child, Noah Snooks, contracted HUS and went into kidney failure after visiting the same farm two months earlier but survived. The Victorian health department has investigated the farm and ordered changes including additional hand washing facilities, though authorities cannot definitively link the cases to the farm as HUS can be contracted in multiple ways.
