GTA VI finally got the gameplay reveal extended look and it looks pretty amazing. You can see where they have had to make compromises with the tech they implemented, but they have done a great job. However, they physical limitations of the PS5 is really holding it back. Can $2 Billion of budget fix it? Break it to me gently. You're saying my 1660 ti might be in trouble.
It runs at 30fps with no performance mode because then they can sell the 60fps update later on, then sell upgraded visuals+60fps with next gen consoles. Then most likely sell it maxed out on PC after all that.
Running the game above 30 fps would cause your PS5 to violently explode.
2 billion dollars is what I'm gonna need to play this game when it comes to pc after all the hardware prices balloon into oblivion.
It's almost like the CPU is important
by the time it comes out on pc, it'll cost like 3k to actually run it at 60fps
Seeing the vehicle reflections in GTA6 makes me appreciate the ones in Cyberpunk even more
its a miracle it even runs on a base ps5
8:27 glazing the game over dynamic lighting as if dynamic lightning hasn't existed for over a decade
GTA 6 reminds me of a mobile AD for the "mafia Boss level 100" clanker stuff
industry keeps pushing this rt reflections and stuff, but mainstream hardware IS NOT READY
The problem with trying to simulate light in real time is that light is the fastest thing in the universe. And ray traced light is always delayed and/or slowly resolves. This looks more uncanny than baked lighting etc. because we expect light, reflections and shadows to be instant - speed of light.
It appears that they are using a significantly better lighting model during cutscenes than during the open world gameplay which makes sense
Seeing the vehicle reflections in GTA6 makes me appreciate the vehicle reflections in Cyberpunk even more.
i would be very excited even for a 40fps mode , 40 fps looks significantly more smooth than 30
The game is rumored to have over 600k of npc's animations. What is also rumored, about the npc, is that everyone is gonna have unique and individual style. Add this with the probably huge map, the graphics and so on. Imho it will be a miracle if the game could run at a steady 30 fps, as it did in the trailer, on the ps5, a 7yo machine
As soon as the camera turns faster you can see the game stutter and the framepacing is off. About the smoothness of the environments, i noticed that too... the mesh density is comparibly low even to games that don't use nanite. Like compare it to Crimson Desert which has its own system or Ass Creed Shadows with Mega-Geometry or whatever its called there.
Normies sacrificed playability so they could make TikToks about how there's beads of condensation on beer bottles.
Releasing on end of ps5 lifecycle just to be milked again next year
1440p 30fps in 2026. LMAO!
