This series goes to show what I've been saying for years: that video games should always be made by passionates with shoestring budgets rather than by corporations with multimillion dollars infinite budgets. People always take their biggest risk when they have nothing to lose. But when a $100 million budget in on the line, you fallback on playing safe by appealing to the lowest common denominator.

As someone who started on the Atari and NES, it is amazing to see how far we've come.
I can't believe I turned into my dad. He'd watch me play games in the early 2000's and say it's far too realistic (as I fight aliens with fictional weapons in Halo). This, though... I don't think I could play this. For vets like me, this is the scariest horror game ever made.
