Bro forgot the shoes and socks
1. Yeah the shoes thing is so real the first day I stayed with my family, I stepped onto their floor with my shoes on and immediately stepped off, I almost died of embarrassment 2. Not all floors are tatami matted, in some homes, only part of the floor is to tell me matted, like where shrines are for ancestors or deities 3. A lot of Japanese homes actually do have dinner tables and chairs. They don't have couches though, instead they have a short table with a blanket over it so underneath the table it's very warm. This is usually what's in front of the TV 4. When I went there, I actually had a full bed complete with a frame. Although my host student was sleeping on a mattress on the floor, so maybe the frame was special just for me 5. They do actually have forks, knives, and spoons. It's just more common to use chopsticks for solid food items. But they use knives and forks for certain meals, like if you were eating pancakes they would usually give you a fork and a knife (their cutlery is just tiny lol) 6. Omg I can't believe I forgot about the shrines, sometimes they'll have Samurai gear and such at shrines, especially for ancestors 7. Yeah the toilets are a shocker, there are so many buttons. A lot of home toilets also have a sink built into the back of the toilet, so the water gets recycled, and you can't use soap... All in all this is mildly accurate, especially for older people
