Reminds me of an internship as a car mechanic I did when I was fifteen. Some old guy with an absolutely spotless 25yo Camry drove onto the yard. He claimes he had the car for 25 years and never had an issue with it, but this morning it didn't start, so he had to call car assistance and they jump started him so he could get here. He sounded worried, you could tell he liked the car but was thinking about whether he should just get a new car, as he didn't want to deal with an unreliable car. We quickly found out it still had the original battery, which was empty. The alternator was working fine, but the battery wouldn't hold its charge. Nowadays a 5yo battery is old, a 10yo battery is something worth telling your friends about. That thing was 25 years and was no longer holding a charge. We put a new battery in and the car instantly started. Seriously, it only had to crank for half a second or so. One of the mechanics went around the shop showing the old battery to all the other mechanics, which eventually gathered around the Camry and we gave it a full examination. We told the man that if he's thinking about getting a newer car he's welcome to take a look at our lot of used cars, but he won't find anything in a better condition than his Camry. It was so heartwarming to see his face slowly change from a sad owner genuinely attached to his car worried that this might be the end to a happy owner slowly realising what an amazing machine he has, and that it will probably outlive him. No shit, the experience was very similar to this video
