Ned Leeds 🧙♂️ is Peter Parker’s most loyal, funny and reliable best friend throughout Spider-Man: No Way Home, a warm-hearted, humorous teen who always stands firmly beside Peter no matter what troubles arise 🤝. At the beginning of the movie, Ned is overjoyed about being accepted into MIT alongside Peter and MJ, but their dreams are instantly shattered after Peter’s Spider-Man identity gets leaked publicly, and Ned also suffers rejection from the university just because of his close relationship with Peter, yet he never blames his buddy even for a second and chooses to comfort Peter wholeheartedly instead 😔. When Peter decides to ask Doctor Strange for help with the memory spell, Ned tags along curiously and later accidentally gains possession of Strange’s magical sling ring, unlocking incredible portal-opening powers by pure luck, which turns this ordinary high school nerd into an unexpected wizard apprentice 🪄; he uses this magic to travel through dimensions, search for Peter, and even accidentally opens portals that bring Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man into their universe, making him the crucial key to assembling the three Spider-Men team 🕷️🕷️🕷️. During the chaotic process of housing and curing supervillains, Ned assists Peter with technology and lookout duties, jokes around to ease the tense atmosphere, and teams up with MJ to support Peter emotionally when he sinks into deep despair after Aunt May’s tragic death 💔. Though Ned is scared of the powerful villains like Green Goblin and Doc Ock most of the time, he summons up immense bravery to protect MJ and hold off dangers for Peter when emergencies happen. In the heartbreaking final scene, Ned is forced by Strange’s final multiverse spell to completely erase all memories of Peter Parker, forgetting his best friend of many years entirely; when he chats happily with MJ on campus later, he has no slightest recollection of the incredible magical adventures, multiverse battles and precious friendship they once shared, leaving audiences with endless sadness and regret for this innocent, kind and unforgettable sidekick 😢.
